About
Hello my name is Kathryn “Kathy” Gallino
Since I was a child I had the gift of bringing people and their ideas together. I have worked as a mail clerk, veterinary technician, environmental scientist and government servant. I thrive on finding solutions to complex situations that benefit our communities.
I have nearly 30 years of government service in economic & community development leadership, specializing in rural economic strategy, business development, community revitalization, and business retention and expansion. As the former Economic & Community Development Director for Calaveras County, I have lead efforts that balance economic growth with the preservation of rural character, natural resources, agriculture, tourism, and small business vitality. I have also contributed regional expertise through my service on the Board of Directors for the Central Sierra Economic Development District and the Mother Lode Job Training Agency, with practical experience in Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy development including related planning efforts, workforce development, broadband expansion, and workforce housing. I have secured more than $42 million in state and federal grant funding for infrastructure and community initiatives and am an Accredited California Economic Developer (ACE) through the California Association of Economic Developers (CALED).
